Always a pleasure to shoot with Henry Chen Photography, I immediately agreed to Assist/2nd Shoot with Henry on this Saturday’s wedding shoot. Set in the beautiful old downtown of Pasadena, California, next to the Civic Center lies the Westin hotel, where Toey and Fernando planned to have their wedding ceremony and reception on September 13, 2008. But before the activities of the afternoon were to commence, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and celebration started early in the day at their houses surrounded by friends and family.
During the afternoon, Toey and Fernando arrived at the Westin to take a few wedding party photos near the Civic Center and Westin courtyards. As the day hit halfway, Henry and I continued to fire off photos one after another getting all angles, ideas, and poses we could think of for the lovely couple. People soon started to arrive and after a quick ceremony the reception began with best wishes hung on a tree, kids dancing at light speeds, and even a centerpiece game for only 1 dollar. After a long and tiring day, I still couldn’t have been happier as I had enjoyed every minute of it. I hope you enjoy the photos that occurred over the 14 hour day as I know I enjoyed taking them.
