The Professional Photographers of California and the magazine Pro Photo West are holding a student photo contest for 5 California schools including, Santa Monica College, Brooks Institute, Palomar College, Tri Community, and San Francisco Art Academy University. The winner of the contest will get a scholorship to the 2009 Professional Photographers of California’s West Coast School in June. The winning photo will also appear on the cover of the July issue of Pro Photo West, which is sent out to all members of the PPC as well as go on display at the PPC’s Western States Conference/Pro Photo Expo in Pasadena. On top of the main prize, 5 prizes will also be given out for each school including a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner, along with 2 honorable mentions.
Grand Prize entry will be publication of the winning image on the cover of the Pro Photo West Magazine (PPW) July 2009 issue, which is sent to all Professional Photographers of California’s (PPC) members, and display online at the PPC website as well as on display at the PPC’s 56th Western States Conference / Pro Photo Expo’09 in Pasadena.
Not knowing what to expect of what type of competition I was up against, I submitted my favorite Portrait (vertical orientation) photos and hoped for the best. These were my entries. Keep your fingers crossed!
