For as long as I can remember, J2 (Jay Brady) has been into music. His love for audio of all kinds shows through with every hobby he explores and every CD he buys. Going with Jay to many electronic clubs over the years in LA, San Francisco, and Vegas, I always wondered when it was going to be his turn. On Dec. 13th, 2008, Jay got his chance at a club called Majestic in Huntingon Beach with a friend of his who’s DJ’d for many years. He sent out flyers, bought new music, and got ready for the show. As I arrived at 9:30pm, I was surprised to see his DJ friend Andre already on stage spinning his music. The dance floor was large, smoke machine was filling the room with a spooky mood, and lasers cut through the room with a bright, green sharpness. Jay quickly informed me that to his surprise, Andre wanted to open the show tonight and Jay was going to be the main event, going on at 11:45PM!! WOW! J2’s first gig, and he’s already the main event!
As people filled the room, 11:45PM approached very quickly. As Jay sat in the corner, calming his nerves, it came time for him to jump on stage and throw on his music! The crowd cheered “Jay, Jay, Jay” as he rocked the rest of the night out like a pro. Over 300 people were there to witness Jay’s debut and I was glad to see it as well. Everyone had a great time and the promoters loved it. J2 will definitely be back, so keep your eyes open and calenders clear!
