Almost a White Christmas

As with every holiday season, I headed back to Colorado to see my parents as well as attend a wedding of an old college buddy.  With my girlfriend agreeing to attend, but reluctant to face the cold, we boarded a plane and headed out to chilly Colorado.  Within 2 hours of landing in Colorado, snow started to fall from the sky in huge, thick clumps.  Although cold, Allison loved her first experience in falling snow.  With a few other cold frosty mornings, a freezing Broncos football game, and a wonderful wedding, Allison’s quick stay was over.  She headed back home to warm California to spend the rest of the holidays with her family.  Although it didn’t snow on Christmas day, a little bit of snow remained on the ground to decorate the landscape and front range in a white, patchy blanket.  Along with my mom’s attention to detail and abundance of Christmas decorations, it was definitely still a festive holiday.  Even Boyd Lake was firmly frozen with 6 inches of hard, clear ice, which my dad and I used to it’s full potential.  The remainder of my visit consisted of lunches with friends, terrific new restaurants, and lots of board games.  It was great to be back in Colorado with my parents and friends and I always look forward to my visits.  I hope you enjoy the photos of my semi-white Christmas and I hope you had a warm happy holiday yourselves.
