NetKAL GALA & Summit 2011 – Los Angeles – Network of Korean American Leaders

When I first heard about NetKAL I had to look up their website.  I never knew this thriving organization that promoted Korean American leaders in our community.  The NetKal Program is organized by The Center for Asian-Pacific Leadership at the University of Southern California. The Center for Asian-Pacific Leadership promotes innovative education and training for Asian and Asian-American leadership.  They have fellowships that include some of the top Korean American leaders around the country.  Then once a year, they hold a GALA and Summit.  This year’s event was held at the California Science Center near USC.  Director of NetKAL, Dr. Je Hoon Lee was on hand greeting people and taking photos with friends and supporters.  With a huge list of celebrities and VIP’s, this event had some 500 people attending.  Some such guests included Saxophonist Kenny G, Yogurtland CEO Phillip Chang, Journalist Lisa Ling, Singer and K-Pop Star Kim Tae Woo, Singer and K-pop Star Gina Choi G.NA, Dexter Actor C.S. Lee, Author & Food Activist Ani Phyo, Singer and YouTube Star David Choi, Former AOL CEO David Eun, NBC’s writer/co-producer The Playboy Club Monica Macer, Fast & Furious Actor Brian Tee, KoreAM Publisher James Ryu, and Hitch and The Pursuit of Happyness Producer Teddy Zee.

Many many more notables were in attendance.  For a full list, please see this link for NetKAL summits website.

The event was catered by Good Gracious! Events and organized by Party Designs by Carol.  Video was filmed by Andrew Oh and Unit 5 Films.  Flowers by Tic-Toc Couture Florals.

Enjoy the photos from this awesome event.  It was a blast to see such an amazing and talented group of Korean American’s under one roof.  Congratulations to everyone on their continued success.
