Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get when I order a photo from you?

I believe in providing high quality photos that will last for many years to come. I’d like you to be able to pass the photo down onto your kids and have it maintain the same vivid colors and photographic quality. The photos are either framed or unframed but will both be accompanied by signed acid free double mats or 8-ply museum quality mats. The unframed versions allow you to purchase a frame that fits your design needs.

What size are your prints and mats?

For a majority of my prints, I provide the original 3:2 ratio size at which it was captured.  I feel this size fits the photos style and composition and gives the photographs a more panoramic quality. The sizes available are matted to a 16x20 8-ply acid free conservation mat or the 4-ply acid free double mat. The outside mat is a neutral pearl white while the inside black mat creates a nice, thin border.  I have also used a black outer mat and a white core, so please specify if this is something you would like me to provide at no extra cost.

Do you provide other sizes as well?

Yes, custom sized prints are available so please click here for the PDF sizing and pricing list. At the moment on my website, my photographs come at a size I feel is most convenient and cost effective for my customers. If you’re unsure if this sizing option will be suitable, please contact me about the other framed or unframed versions. Pricing reflects the additional print size, frame, and shipping costs and are adjusted in the PDF. Please contact me for those special orders and I will send a money request to your email with accurate details.

What does the framing option include?

The framed version will be a hand built, modern black wooden frame with an anti-glare plexiglass. These hand assembled frames fit the specific photo, mat, and look that I wanted to achieve with my photography. If you are unsure that this option is right for you, please purchase the unframed versions that come with the same high quality print and signed mats so that you may have it framed to your particular preference.

Do you shoot digital or film?

I currently shoot with a professional Canon EOS-5D 13 megapixel digital camera with high quality L-series lenses.  Many professional photographers are shooting digital now that the technology has produced top quality prints that are comparable to color film. I also shoot black and white film photography, but currently do not have any of those online for sale.  Just added on the website is a black and white section where a few of my digital photos have been placed.  These color conversions have been printed and examined to the best quality I feel can be produced from digital. Some of these prints have recently been accepted into a photo contest, so top quality was definitely on my mind.

Where have all these photos been taken?

Most of my photos are taken overseas in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Eastern Europe, and Central America. I am continually traveling the world to add new and unique photos to my website for purchase.  If you have any special requests of locations, please don’t hesitate to contact me as I may already have plans for that destination in a future scheduled trip. Other locations include California, New Mexico, Alaska, Colorado, and New York.

What quality paper are your prints?

I have sampled and experimented with many different types of printing processes and have narrowed it down to a few that I feel are of the highest quality. Fujicolor Crystal Archive® photographic paper is a high quality commercial paper which produces brilliant whites and vivid colors. Its “archival” properties in a normal displaying environment go well into 60+ years. I use this process for a majority of my larger prints.

For the smaller prints, Archival Pigmented Ink Prints (also known as Giclee or Inkjet Prints) are made using a professional-quality Epson printer at a well established printing center. The result is a fine art print that is indistinguishable from those created with classic photographic methods. Photographs are printed on archival Epson papers and photo specific inks, producing images resistant to fading or discoloring under proper display conditions.  Some additional papers include pearl and canvas printing, please contact me for more information on those special printing options.

Tell me more about your limited edition prints?

My limited edition prints are photos that I feel are of the highest quality and standards. These prints are custom printed at a local printing lab and personally inspected by myself. Once a limited edition order has been made, my records will determine which number print was purchased.  I will then sign and number each archival mat before assembling the artwork. Each print will have a number between 1 and 200. Once the 200th print has been sold, it will be listed sold out and a zero quantity will be in stock.

Are the other photographs signed as well?

Yes, I sign all of my work on the outside lower right corner of the mat in pencil or a light brown pen on the black mats.  Some photographers sign the print front, the print back, or some don't sign at all.  Signing the mat is what I personally feel looks the best without interfering with the photo.

How do I care for the artwork?

I want my artwork to last as long as possible.  I’ve taken care in providing acid free mats and archival papers.  On the framed versions, I use a lightweight, anti-glare acrylic plexiglass.  The plexiglass is stronger and lighter then regular glass, but can still be scratched. Please use proper cleaning equipment when cleaning the surface.  The care of the prints is now in your hands. Do not hang the art in direct sunlight and use proper cleaning solutions for the frame and plexiglass.  Hang each print with proper tools and if needed ask a friend to help.

How long will it take for my purchased artwork to arrive?

My artwork is not pre-assembled and stored in a warehouse to collect dust.  Each order will be hand assembled, printed, and reviewed for the highest quality product.  Delivery is between 2-4 weeks after purchase, but may be subject to change depending on my location as the purchase is made.  I appreciate your patience on all orders and will try my hardest to accommodate any special rush requests.

What kind of shipping options do I have?

The artwork will come via DHL Ground shipping by default to provide the most reliable and affordable shipping method. Shipping and handling costs a standard $15 dollars to ensure the artwork arrives safely and without harm. There are also additional options available with DHL and other carriers for your convenience.  Please contact me for these additional needs and pricing.

I offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy. I will gladly refund or exchange your purchase within 14 days.  Shipping and handling will not be refunded.
